Texture from a CC0 photo source, completed in Blender — no AI involved. The images on this page are renders of the finished texture.

What do I get with the Forest Floor 02 texture?

Forest floor of whole leaves, mostly brown with green and yellow ones in between. Coarser and livelier than Forest Floor 01, tileable in both directions. The purchase holds Diffuse, Normal (GL), Roughness, AO, Displacement (16-bit) and packed ARM, each in 2K, 4K and 8K as three separate downloads, covering 2.3 × 2.3 m per tile. It works in any engine that reads PBR maps — GIANTS Editor, Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot and web viewers.

What this asset is

What Forest Floor 02 is

Forest floor of whole leaves, mostly brown with green and yellow ones in between. Coarser and livelier than Forest Floor 01, tileable in both directions. The leaves keep their shape: every single one lies on its own with a real edge, so the ground reads as fresh autumn leaf fall rather than soil. 4K and 8K come straight from the scan, nothing is upscaled.

One tile covers 2.3 × 2.3 m; the sphere in the viewer above carries the real displacement, so what you see is the material itself, not a mockup.

Where it comes from

From a CC0 photo source (polyhaven.com/a/forest_leaves_03 · Rob Tuytel, Dimitrios Savva), used at its native 8192 px without upscaling. We brought the maps into our naming scheme and derived the remaining ones in Blender from the source diffuse; the height map was taken from the 16-bit original, not from the JPG. No AI was involved at any step.

Questions and answers

Is the Forest Floor 02 texture a mod I install?

No. Forest Floor 02 is a texture package, not a mod — nothing goes into your mods folder and nothing appears in the in-game shop. You use the maps as material in your own project: in the GIANTS Editor, Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot or any engine that reads PBR maps.

Which maps and resolutions does Forest Floor 02 include?

Diffuse, Normal (GL), Roughness, AO, Displacement (16-bit) and packed ARM — each in 2K, 4K and 8K, as three downloads (one per resolution) for one price. One tile covers 2.3 × 2.3 m and tiles in both directions.

Can I use Forest Floor 02 in the GIANTS Editor for FS25?

Yes. The package ships JPG and PNG; the GIANTS Editor reads both, and for the best in-game performance you convert the maps you use to DDS with the GIANTS Texture Tool — a one-click step. There is no ready-made i3d in this package, because a texture is a material, not an object.

Was the Forest Floor 02 texture made with AI?

No. Forest Floor 02 comes from a CC0 photo source (Poly Haven) used at its native 8192 px, with no upscaling and no AI at any step. We renamed the maps to our scheme and derived the remaining ones in Blender from the source diffuse; the height map came from the 16-bit original rather than the JPG.

May I publish a map or mod that uses Forest Floor 02?

Yes, commercially too, as long as FS Modworks is named in your credits. What you may not do is pass on or sell the package itself — for example uploading the download unchanged to another portal. That is the FSMW Asset License 1.0.
