Texture computed by us from code, without photos and without an image generator, completed in Blender. The images on this page are renders of the finished texture.

What do I get with the Painted Metal Gold 01 texture?

Gold paint on metal, a rich warm gold with fine, dense hairline cracks in the coat. Fully metallic, smooth with a light sheen, tileable in both directions. The free download holds Diffuse, Normal (GL), Roughness, AO, Displacement (16-bit) and packed ARM, each in 2K, 4K and 8K as three separate downloads, covering 1 × 1 m per tile. It works in any engine that reads PBR maps — GIANTS Editor, Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot and web viewers.

Painted Metal Gold 01: render of the texture on a sphere, dark stage

What this asset is

What Painted Metal Gold 01 is

Gold paint on metal, a rich warm gold with fine, dense hairline cracks in the coat. Fully metallic, smooth with a light sheen, tileable in both directions. Computed rather than photographed: the cracks come from periodic noise, so the tile repeats cleanly by construction. Metallic sits at 1 in the blue channel of the ARM map, roughness at 0.22. And it's free with an account, for when your gold trader, your trophies or your excavator's trim need to shine.

One tile covers 1 × 1 m; the sphere in the viewer above carries the real displacement, so what you see is the material itself, not a mockup.

Where it comes from

Computed from code: the paint, the hairline cracks and the relief come from periodic noise at 8192 px, so the tile repeats cleanly by construction; 2K and 4K are scaled down from that. No photo, no image generator and no third-party file is part of it. The look was measured against a commercial reference (colour, roughness, crack angle), nothing of it was copied.

Questions and answers

Is the Painted Metal Gold 01 texture a mod I install?

No. Painted Metal Gold 01 is a texture package, not a mod — nothing goes into your mods folder and nothing appears in the in-game shop. You use the maps as material in your own project: in the GIANTS Editor, Blender, Unity, Unreal, Godot or any engine that reads PBR maps.

Which maps and resolutions does Painted Metal Gold 01 include?

Diffuse, Normal (GL), Roughness, AO, Displacement (16-bit) and packed ARM — each in 2K, 4K and 8K, as three downloads (one per resolution) free with an account. One tile covers 1 × 1 m and tiles in both directions.

Can I use Painted Metal Gold 01 in the GIANTS Editor for FS25?

Yes. The package ships JPG and PNG; the GIANTS Editor reads both, and for the best in-game performance you convert the maps you use to DDS with the GIANTS Texture Tool — a one-click step. There is no ready-made i3d in this package, because a texture is a material, not an object.

Was the Painted Metal Gold 01 texture made with AI?

No. Painted Metal Gold 01 is computed from code (periodic noise at 8192 px), not drawn by an image generator and not taken from a photo. The paint colour, roughness and crack pattern were set by hand and checked against a reference look.

May I publish a map or mod that uses Painted Metal Gold 01?

Yes, commercially too, as long as FS Modworks is named in your credits. What you may not do is pass on or sell the package itself — for example uploading the download unchanged to another portal. That is the FSMW Asset License 1.0.
