FS25: Design rework for the PV-235 E and Manitowoc 4600

No new download yet. Both rebuilds are in progress and have no date. The pictures are renders from Blender, not in-game shots.

We are rebuilding two machines from our mining series closer to the originals: the PV-235 E drill rig and the Manitowoc 4600 Dragline. Both get a new footprint, new dimensions and a new layout.

The short version

  • On the PV-235 E the cab moves to the front left, as on the real rig, and the deck gets lower and open. The first stage is done.
  • The Manitowoc 4600 now has the factory dimensions from Manitowoc's drawing. The old model was about 1.3 times too big.
  • Test build 0.1.4.1 of the Manitowoc stays with our Magister members. The rebuild comes as 0.2.0.0.

PV-235 E: from the front left

PV-235 E before and after from the front left: version 0.9.1.0 with the cab on the right and a wide engine house, next to the rework with the cab at the front left and a lower, open deck

On the left, the old state 0.9.1.0 with a wide, diesel-style engine house on a high deck. On the right, the rework: cab at the front left, deck lower, the deck stays open.

PV-235 E: from the rear right

PV-235 E before and after from the rear right: the old layout with rear radiator, side stairs and cable drum, next to the rework with its new footprint, the rear still being rebuilt

At the rear you can see the rework is still going on. Footprint and heights are right already. Deck modules, cable drum and ladder come in the next stages.

Manitowoc 4600: the whole machine

Manitowoc 4600 before and after: test build 0.1.4.1 with a fully red boom and grey bucket, next to the rebuild at factory size with a silver upper boom, round boom-point sheave and rust-brown bucket

Built to factory size: the upper boom is silver with a round boom-point sheave, the bucket is rust brown, and a two-leg portal mast replaces the rear A-frame.

Manitowoc 4600: from the rear

Manitowoc 4600 from the rear, before and after: tall rear A-frame and boxy counterweight, next to the flat counterweight with chevron hatching, yellow railings and walkways to the rear

A flat counterweight with chevron hatching as on the real machine, a rear wall with tank, yellow railings and walkways right to the rear.

Renders from Blender, not in-game shots.

What comes next

We are not giving dates. The current state is on the PV-235 E page and the Manitowoc 4600 Dragline page. What the machines dig up later will be up to Mining Layers. The roller gets its own article: the Ammann ARS 200 before and after. Update from 29 September: the PV-235 E and the Manitowoc 4600 belong to the 80 % stage of our first map, the whole story is in Paradise Farm & Pit, our first FS25 map.
