Gold Trader V1: first look from the play test

Update 17 Sept, evening: The furniture and the pergola from the trader now come on their own as 3D assets: Eleven 3D assets from the Gold Trader.

The Gold Trader V1 is in the game for the first time, and we brought a few pictures. It is a shop you can actually walk into: open the door with a key press, and inside there is the counter, the roulette corner and music. It is not finished yet, the play test is running.

The two by the door

Left and right of the entrance stand two bronze statues on boulders. These are our boys: George Washington Carmack and Keish, better known as Skookum Jim Mason.

Without these two, this shop would not exist. On 16 August 1896 they found gold on Bonanza Creek in the Yukon, together with Carmack's wife Shaaw Tláa, known as Kate Carmack, and Dawson Charlie. That find started the Klondike Gold Rush. In the Yukon, 16 August is still Discovery Day.

Carmack holds a jar full of nuggets and grins as if he already knows what comes next. Update from 26 September: with the Major Update of 26 September, his jar is clear glass full of real gold nuggets.

Skookum Jim was a member of the Tagish First Nation, born around 1855 near Bennett Lake. He stands on the other side of the door, on a rock of his own. Update from 25 September: his statue is now available on its own as a 3D model for your maps and mods.

Inside

Behind the door you find the counter with the gold bar display, the price board and the roulette table. A round vault door is set into the wall. The DJ desk plays three selectable tracks — Victory Hall, Club, Eurodance; a key press skips ahead or switches it off. The full music line-up comes later with V2.

And the gold bars in the display? You can just walk off with them. We did not see a thing.

What is still missing

Table dance. The mod is called "Roulette & Table Dance", and V1 brings exactly one dancer: she sits at the roulette table, heads out to the couch, greets you at the door and dances on the table dance stage. The "Tonight: Table Dance" poster is up outside. More dancers come with V2.
